You often hear the term fast food. Usually the term is only for foods that come from abroad, such as burgers, hot dogs, or pizza. Fast food is actually food that can be prepared immediately. If you refer to this definition, Indonesia also has some fast food. Here are some typical Indonesian fast foods.
- Bakso
Bakso are foods that are easy to find in all parts of Indonesia and are liked by all people. It also can be served quickly. It usually takes less than 10 minutes to be served to customers. Bakso usually are enjoyed with noodles or vermicelli as well as dumplings and some little green vegetables. - Mie Ayam
Mie ayam are also foods that are easily found throughout Indonesia besides bakso. Mie ayam is a dish made from noodles sprinkled with a special soy sauce, along with chicken and vegetables. Mie ayam are usually eaten with the addition of wet or dry dumplings. There are also those who sometimes add bakso and mushrooms. - Soto
This traditional Indonesian food is also no less popular than bakso and mie ayam. It also can be served quickly. Soto is a typical Indonesian food such as soup made from meat and vegetable broth. The most commonly used meats are beef and chicken. Various regions in Indonesia have their own special Soto with different compositions, for example Soto Lamongan, Soto Semarang, Soto Kudus, Soto Betawi, Soto Sokaraja, Coto Makassar and others. Soto is usually served with rice or rice cake, ketupat, noodles, and vermicelli. - Bubur Ayam
Many people often consider bubur ayam to be a breakfast food, but actually bubur ayam can be eaten anytime. Bubur ayam is generally served with sliced chicken meat with some spices, such as soy sauce and sweet soy sauce, pepper, salt, and sometimes chicken stock. In addition, it is usually equipped with a sprinkling of chopped green onions, fried onions, celery, fried soybeans, cakwe, and kerupuk. - Nasi Warteg
Warteg or Warung Tegal is a stall that sells rice with various ready-to-eat side dishes that we can choose from. Warteg can also be called fast food because it can be served quickly. Warteg is also very easy to find in various parts of Indonesia.
